Red nose day in Worcester

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Tomorrow being Friday the 13th is regarded as being unlucky for many but not for all those people who will be benefitting from the proceeds from Red Nose Day.

Like many towns and cities up and down the country Worcester is doing its own bit to raise money for the good cause.  We thought the people below from Worcester deserved a special mention.

  • Stourport High School will let their teachers shave their beards that have been grown for over the last 5 weeks.
  • Subway staff in The Cross, Worcester will be bathing in meatballs.  A portion of takings will also be donated.
  • The Specsavers staff from Broad Street in Worcester will be red faced and red nosed as they under go a 7,200 step challenge.
  • A football match with a difference will be held at New College Worcester. Reason being it will be in fancy dress!

Bright lights in Worcester sky?

Friday, February 6th, 2009

There has been reports of bright lights in the Worcester sky. Many have thought that these lights have come from a UFO. However, there is another plausible explanation. At the same time of the sighting our Hummer limo was out in Worcester and we were wondering if the couple could have mistaken the bright lights from the Hummer as lights from an UFO? With LED computer controlled lighting the Hummer limousine can dazzle but might struggle to light up the sky. However, it won’t have any problems lighting up your night.

The couple couldn’t take pictures of the lights as they didn’t have a camera. They commented: “I thought it was a plane at first but it didn’t move,” she said. “I studied it more closely and it was like an oblong object with a lot of flashing lights. It had a greenish tinge to it at the bottom and a faint pink tinge at the top. It was there for about an hour without moving.”

Snow causes chaos in Worcester

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Children in Worcester might well be happy to see the snow on the ground with the prospect of a day off school and building snow men. In fact over 60 schools have now been closed. However, limo drivers and other motorists aren’t so happy.

Here at limo hire Worcester we will ensure that any limousine and wedding car hire bookings continue with out any problems. 28 gritters have been out in force so the main roads have been kept snow free but the side roads have been badly effected.   The limousines will be sticking to the main roads and Worcester city centre it self as the some of the side roads are very bad.  For example Worcestershire council have announced that  there will be no bin collections.

If you are planning to travel in these icy conditions please take extra care on the roads and allow plenty of time for your journey. We are still taking limo hire bookings so if you have any requirements please don’t hesitate to contact us.
